I inherited this elegant Victorian drawing room chair from my cousin. It was in a sorry state, so I set about reupholstering it using traditional methods. As I stripped the chair, I found remnants of the original top fabric and calico which had been hidden for over a hundred years. Still in good condition, I decided to incorporate them into the reupholstery – I felt they deserved it after all that time! The back and bottom of the seat have been left exposed to show off the mechanics behind buttoning.

In good condition and very comfortable to sit on.
