Object History
This ladderback, rush-seated chair belonged to my late aunt. It sat, forgotten, in her back room until we cleared the house after she died. I took pity on it and brought it home.
As an amateur upholsterer, I have far too many chairs, so I like to play with them and do something different. With this one, I used wool bought from a charity shop to brighten up the seat, following the lines of the rushes.
The resulting tassels have made me call this the 'Macrame Chair'.
