Object History

Four Assembly 2026 by Dual Works was created as a special donation to the MAC as part of The Final Bid, conceived by Michael Pinsky.
Purposefully designed with a playful personality, the piece celebrates material honesty, collaboration and attention to detail. Constructed entirely from workshop offcuts gathered from previous projects, Four Assembly transforms leftover materials into something deliberate, vibrant and unexpected. Using Dual Works’ signature palette of birch plywood and Formica, the work combines four different thicknesses of birch plywood with four contrasting colours of Formica. This creates a visual rhythm that shifts with the viewer’s perspective, while hidden details reveal themselves when the work is suspended within the context of the exhibition.
Designed collectively by the team, Four Assembly embodies a shared process of experimentation, craft and resourcefulness, where precision and personality exist side by side.

In excellent condition.
