Object History

I am Chair of the Birmingham Girls Old Edwardian Club, the Alumnae association for King Edward VI High School for Girls in Edgbaston.

This chair, which is in our Archives, was used in the original school building in New Street (where the Odeon cinema is now).

Mollie Randle was a pupil at New Street from 1922 to 1927. She had a great love for drama and acted in many productions. She and her husband, John English, were instrumental in establishing the Midlands Arts Centre in 1962, and she remained involved for 40 years.

In good condition.
